Armoni Kitchens Cheese Grater and Lemon Zester; 6 Sided Stainless Steel 8 Inch
The folks at Cruise Imports LLC were kind enough to provide me with this cheese grater (8 inch size) in exchange for sharing my unbiased review...
Upon it's arrival, I wasn't sure I'd like it because it's base appeared wider than I thought it looked online. My thought was that it would take up more drawer/ cabinet space than our prior one and I didn't like that. After testing it out, I found that the wider base was better for a couple reasons.
First off, after using it, if you lift straight up, our other one had a pile of cheese or veggies toppling over. This one creates a triangle shape mountain that stays in place meaning less mess around my cutting board or on the surrounding counter or floor.
Second, it's easier for me to reach inside of it to draw out any cheese or foods left along the inside. I have small hands but with our narrower one, it was tight to reach into.
The rubber around the base is fantastic for keeping it steady while in use and I really like the thicker round handle. Our other was square and hollow underneath where this handle is solid so it feels good in my hands.
I was unsure about it having 6 narrower sides verses our other with 4 wider but we don't miss the other. This has the cheese grater, a shredder, mincer, citrus or lemon zester and a vegetable slicer; everything we need.
It's made of stainless steel and the blades are sharp for fast shredding. It's dishwasher safe and after over 3 months of use, it's holding up well.
We've since gotten rid of our prior cheese grater but I'm uploading some photos of the two so you can see for comparison. Highly recommended. Smile. Hope this is helpful!
