The folks at Health Plus Prime were kind enough to provide me with this 2" Gel Memory Foam Topper, (size: Queen) in exchange for sharing my unbiased review...
Since we own a very heavy memory foam mattress I was anticipating this to be somewhat heavy and in a larger box. It arrived folded and rolled up, quite small. The product itself weighs under 15 pounds.
It can be difficult trying to yank it out of the somewhat tissue-like plastic/ fabric that it was in. I used scissors to carefully cut it off lengthwise and that worked out nicely as I was able to then lay the product out on top of it.
You won't need to air it out, like other memory foam products which I've found usually stink. It was odor free and has a really pretty, oceanic look to it. This isn't the first one I've owned here from Amazon but it is the nicest.
I layed it out carefully and didn't stretch it at all but a day later found that it was slightly larger than our mattress. All the way around, it hangs just over the edges, rather than being slightly smaller, as it's listed to be.
To me and my husband, it looked as thick when we initially layed it out, as it did days later, after fully expanding. If you buy deep pocket sheets, they should still fit fine. Our pillow top mattress is 14" thick and even with this added, our sheets still fit fine.
The gel is indeed cooling verses our regular memory foam bed and the relief this brings, as your body sinks into it, is wonderful. It is super cushy and not at all firm but we both like it a lot. I considered trimming the overhang but we decided to keep it as is.
I'd recommend a good protector to help keep it clean and, at least every few months, it's a good idea to turn it lengthwise. Having one of these is a treat worth the money and I think for it's current price, it's a good value.
We've had ours for about three weeks and it's holding up nicely but I'll update my review down the road should that change. My two favorite features of this product are that it's made in the USA and it doesn't sleep hot.
