This product is made in China and arrived in a box suitable for gift giving and without any chemical smell. This has turned out to be a very nice speaker. I've had it in use for over two months and it's taken me a while to figure out a few things (due to the instructions not being too great) but this is definitely a keeper for our needs.
First off, it has an alarm that comes preset and goes off daily as long as it has charge (although it's off and not in use, it still sounds, nice feature). Changing the alarm time was easy but I had to play with it for a while before I figured out how to actually turn the alarm off. Most of the buttons offer different functions between a short press and long press; issue solved.
Pairing is fast and easy and we haven't had to pair any of our devices twice (unlike many others we've owned). I read another review that said that the time resets every time it's turned off but ours keeps the time set as long as it's charged. It rarely dies on us either (but I do charge it every few days). We use it in our kitchen/ dining/ living area daily.
Feels nice in our hands, smooth to the touch like silicone and appears to be built to last. Easy to use in that it has few buttons overall but tricky at first in setting up, just took a bit of playing with it to figure everything out.
Very sleek look and nice sound that gets much louder than we'd expected for a small speaker. It holds charge well; I can use it all day or most of the day and not need to charge it daily. We've used it via the Bluetooth capability with a radio app, as well as just using the radio station option on the speaker itself.
The sound quality is fantastic in our opinion, good balance of balance and treble, when used via Bluetooth. For radio, there's no antenna and initially we had lots of fuzz. I found that in most places in our living room and on our bookshelves we had too much static to use it that way. Finally, on our dining table, I found it to have perfect reception...
I think our reception issues may have to do with the wall of rock we have behind our home but I'm not positive. For us, getting rid of our old eyesore boombox we had hidden under a table, this wasn't a big deal. Just glad to have good reception somewhere.
We don't own any high-end sound equipment but have experienced our good share of small bluetooth speakers. I do wish it had AM radio and 12 hr time instead of just the 24 hr clock. I don't feel that the issues I've mentioned take away from it being a 5-star product but they're worth mentioning.
It's Bluetooth wireless capability allows me to walk away with my phone to go upstairs but it disconnects somewhere around 25-30 feet away. Happy to be able to use it in radio mode as that's my personal first preference for listening to music and news.
For the current pricing of under $29, I'd say this is an excellent deal. Love that it's a radio, clock, and alarm in one small package. I'll be sure to update this review should anything change but we'd definitely recommend it.
