YOJA Thermal Insulated Window Treatment Blackout Curtains Drapes,52 by 84-inch,1 panel,Grey
The folks at Yoja were kind enough to provide me with a pair of these Solid Thermal Insulated Blackout Curtains (52 by 84-inch, 1 panel, Grey) in exchange for sharing my unbiased review...
These are super soft curtains with a nice weight about them. They arrived as advertised and pictured. They are 100% Polyester and the fabric feels like a thick, very smooth microfiber.
The fabric has no sheen, which I love and think gives them an elegant, simple look. They also included a tie-back with each panel; I haven't ever received one (included) with any other curtains I've purchased.
We've purchased 5 other sets of 'blackout curtains' from another online retailer so I can speak to comparison. These are nicer than those (in the $20-25 price range per pair) we've purchased but these are priced per panel so I think they should be.
Normally I'd wash curtains before hanging them but these look pretty good out of the packaging. I don't foresee needing to steam these because of their weight. The wrinkles from the folds are light and I don't think they'll last long.
These curtains are a standard 84" long. I normally prefer the 95" length because I like the look of curtains that pool on the floor. Some people like them to brush the floor or to hang them up higher. The puddled look provides a more romantic look but it's definitely a matter of personal preference.
These have metal grommets at the top for hanging them, with a nice chrome looking finish. What I like about grommets is that you can hide your curtain rod brackets by putting the last grommet on each end, outside of the bracket. This gives a clean look. They also glide across the curtain rod quickly and easily when needed.
I rated these curtains 5 stars, they're very nice compared to others we've owned, and considering I got them in a light shade of grey, they block light pretty well. The stitching appears to be professionally done and they have no loose seams. They do insulate drafts as well.
They are a nice, neutral, shade of grey that would work well with most decor and don't lean towards blue like some "grey" fabrics I've purchased. I like their width, as I'm able to use one by itself, in lieu of a closet door, creating more space in our walk-in closet.
The second one I'm using behind other curtains, that don't block as much light as I'd cared for. When we want more light, then I tuck this one to the side, behind another. It also helps keep the room cooler on hot days.
I think these are a good value for their current price. Recommended. I will be sure to update this review later down the road should they not hold up well.
Uploading some photos so you can see them up close and in action. The first is on a bright sunny day, with the blinds open behind. The second is in front of my closet with a 5000K, very bright, bulb on. Smile. Hope this is helpful!
