Compact & Automatic Travel Umbrella w/Flashlight Handle (Black)
*UPDATED - The kind folks at Zero Grid provided me with this umbrella with flashlight handle in exchange for sharing my unbiased review...
I live in the Seattle area so we get our good share of rain. Most Seattleites are firm believers in a good hoody over the use of an umbrella and, normally, I am too. Having been a property manager though, a good umbrella is important for long walks to apartments with prospective residents who don't feel the same. What an awesome innovation this is!
So of course I was excited when I got the offer for this product because in my next leasing role, having a light built into my umbrella will be an excellent tool. That said, I was anticipating the light would be directed ahead of me, more so than down below...
From the product pictures, I thought it looked like the handle either bends or is bent at an angle (making it great for a door knob or path ahead of you) but what arrived simply points downwards. *I was initially disappointed but after posting my review, the seller emailed me about the swivel bottom in the handle. It is indeed adjustable, I hadn't realized it at first but it's perfect for tilting ahead of your path. (Review updated from 4 stars to 5.)
It is a bit heavy compared to other umbrellas I own of comparable size but I don't mind that. Good weight means less of a feeling of possibly getting blown away or worse yet, having an inside out umbrella. This one is sturdy and strong, a nice benefit for those of us who are petite.
After two months of use, we've had no problems with it and our light still shines as brightly as it did when it arrived. The light shines somewhat narrowly, like a small flashlight would, I wish it would shine a bit wider but it does the job. This is an excellent product that feels well made and I'd recommend it to others.
I haven't needed to change the batteries yet but they are sold here on Amazon and currently at a great price for a 20 pack (the umbrella only takes 3 but they are a common size), Energizer LR44 1.5V Button Cell Battery 20 pack (Replaces: LR44, CR44, SR44, 357, SR44W, AG13, G13, A76, A-76, PX76, 675, 1166a, LR44H, V13GA, GP76A, L1154, RW82B, EPX76, SR44SW, 303, SR44, S303, S357, SP303, SR44SW) "Energizer Brand Name Batteries"
Uploading some photos so you can see what I mean about the handle and light beam width and get a closer look at the umbrella and case. For currently under $25, I think this is a good value. Smile. Hope this is helpful!

*10/12/16 - Still working with the original batteries it came with. I sent this to Afghanistan with my dad and he is thrilled with it. They often lose power there so an item like this one is awesome for his use. Great product!
