Homewill Velvet Suit Hangers High Intension Standard Adult Shirt / Dress No Slip Hanger - 60 Pack (40 Pack Black & 20 Pack Gray)
The kind folks at RQW Technology provided me with a set of these velvet suit hangers (color: Black and Grey) in exchange for sharing my unbiased review...
I've purchased a ton of hangers in my time and this thin profile, velvet style has been my favorite since first discovering them. They save space and clothes conveniently cling to the velvet so things don't end up on the closet floor.
This style is my favorite because of the added bar for hanging a matching scarf, tie, legging, belt, or other accessory. I have some like this but was never sure where I'd bought them to pick-up more and have always seen them a bit overpriced for my preference.
These Homewill hangers are a great value at under $28 for 60 hangers (especially with the added accessory bar feature). I've found velvet hangers to commonly be a good value at two for a dollar and unfortunately sometimes the quality can be lacking.
I compared these with five other velvet hangers I've purchased. These are 17.5 inches wide and some I have are 17-17.75, not much difference. These are a good size for my small to medium tops, pants, and my husband's XXL shirts (I only use this width for his shirts, the smaller plastic ones leave his shirts with shoulder bumps).
These are like two others I own, thick enough to hold weight, and to be sturdy. Three others are just slightly thinner but I have to be careful with them because they break more easily.
I like that these have metal hooks that swivel. I'm slightly OCD and like my hangers all hung the same direction. The swivel top is nice if something needs to be hung the opposite direction, you don't have to move the clothing around, you can just turn the hook. I have some that don't turn and if you try, they break. Pretty annoying.
If you're strapped for closet space, we've purchased these here and (if you have space) I'd recommend them, Whitmor Double Rod Closet Extender, Chrome
If you're super strapped for closet space, this might sound silly but it works and is cost effective. You can take the tops off of soda cans (or canned foods often have larger tabs) and put them around the hanger hook and then hang another hanger from the second hole in the soda tab. By cascading hangers, you can fit more hangers into less place...
I did this in our last rental with limited closet space. They make hooks for this purpose but I figured nobody sees inside my closet but me and this worked just fine for us.
Lastly, I noticed that the description says not to use these with wet clothes (which we don't) but also added that when they arrive you should blow dry them off or get them wet and hang dry. Just wanted to note that ours arrived without needing that. No shedding or dust issues as I've read some hangers can sometimes have.
Uploading some photos so you can get a closer look. Great hangers at a good price. Smile. Hope this is helpful!
