Berydress Women's Midi Dress Slimming Full Lace Party Cocktail Dress (US8, Purple)
The folks at Berydress were kind enough to provide me with this lace cocktail dress (color: Purple, size: 6) in exchange for sharing my unbiased review...
This is a beautiful and well made dress. It arrived as pictured and without any chemical smell. For reference, I ordered according to the sizing information in the product photos. I'm 5'2" tall and I typically wear a US women's size 6, 32C bust, 29" waist, and I'm pear shaped with 38" hips.
The length falls about half way up above my knees and it fits snugly all over on me. The material is comfortable, stretchy, and soft. If you want a looser fit, I'd recommend sizing up a size from the recommended sizing.
Love the look, the classy neckline, and my husband likes it on me too. Overall, it's a little snug for my taste (mostly because of my hips) but I'm keeping it because I like it so much. I do wish it was a bit longer though.
I think the size 8 would've likely been a better fit for me. The lining peeks out along the bottom on me and the zipper doesn't lie flat in back. I know it'll look better when I'm 5-10 pounds lighter though.
This arrived labeled as a size Small (rather than a 6) but a typed note was included, asking to disregard the label because it is a UK size.
My husband said he wouldn't have noticed my issues with it unless I pointed them out but afterwards he agreed it's a little small on me. I tried it on a mannequin and neither issue existed over it's smaller hips.
Overall, this dress is well made and has no loose seams. The zipper pulls smoothly and it does unzip all the way. I think for the current price of under $30, this is a really good value.
Perfect for weddings or formal events. It's light weight enough for spring and summer weather and thick enough to not be see through.
Elegant style and nothing cheap looking about the lace. I'm only 5'2" though and it's a little too short on me for my taste (again, would probably be better in a size 8).
Uploading some photos so you can get a closer look and see what I mean (about the lining at the bottom and the zipper in back), along with the wash instructions and fabric info. Recommended but I'd go a size up if you want it to hang a bit nicer. Smile. Hope this is helpful!
