The folks at Roybens were kind enough to provide me with this smart wireless remote doorbell in exchange for sharing my unbiased review...
I've had this item for months but was just finally able to install it. Thankfully, they include the needed battery (23A 12V) and have a piece of plastic keeping it from being drained until you're ready to use it.
Installation was simple with the option to either use the included 3M double sided tape strips or the included screws. We mounted it next to our regular door bell and my husband used his drill to install it.
The look is modern and sleek and it works well. It's loud but not quite as loud as our regular doorbell. Our regular one is great when we're on the main floor but when I'm in our master bath, I can't hear it at all.
My main concern was that I could hear it with our bathroom fan on and the shower running and I can, even with the bathroom door shut. (I plugged the receiver into the outlet closest to our bathroom, without actually having it in the bathroom, in our master bedroom.) It's loud enough to hear anywhere upstairs so I'll know if I miss a package or have a visitor show up sooner than expected.
We listened to probably 30+ of the 52 bell options (most of which are musical) before I started to get a headache and we decided on the first one. They include one that sounds like dogs barking but it sounds somewhat distant. A good idea but it didn't sound very realistic to us.
Distance wise, this worked consistently anywhere we tested it throughout our roughly 1300 sq ft townhome. Perfect for our use. This also flashes a thin square blue light on the receiver when it rings so a good idea for the hard of hearing as well.
My mom's house has a doorbell that sounds right at the inside of her entry door and she can't ever seem to hear from anywhere in her living spaces. I'll likely be getting one for her next.
It arrived in a box suitable for gift giving and without any chemical smell. Recommended. Uploading some photos so you can get a closer look at it upon arrival. Smile. Hope this is helpful!
