Life@pp 2 in 1 Convertible Cat Cave Sleeping Bed Portable Travel Pet Bowl Mat Hand-Made Cozy Nest Playful Comfy Kitten House, Assorted Colors, 3-Pack (Blue Pink Black)
The kind folks at DirectBuy Mate provided me with a three pack of these 2 in 1 Convertible Cave Shape Cat Sleeping Beds (in Blue, Pink, and Black) in exchange for sharing my unbiased review...
My husband and I bought our first home earlier this year and have been kitty shopping ever since. Unfortunately, we still haven't found him or her yet. We're actually both allergic so we're searching for a hypoallergenic breed that we can afford (hard to come by!).
These caves are made in Taiwan. We're saving one pod for our future kitty, trying to use another with our neighbor's outdoor cat, and gave the third to our daughter, for her cat...
The neighborhood cat is older and super friendly but we couldn't for the life of us get him to go inside the cave or on it as a bed (even tried drawing him in with the red dot of a lazer pointer, haha). I've tried numerous times and, for whatever reason, he's just not having it.
Our daughter's cat is another story. The second she plopped the pod down, she curiously went right in. She's about a year old and also very playful. She's been getting plenty of use of hers but only likes it in the cave fashion. They are both smaller cats.
These measure 19" long by 17" wide, and 12.5" high. The entrance hole diameter is 7" so they're a good size for most cats without taking up a ton of space. They're also lightweight and easily foldable. I was surprised that all three actually fit into the box they arrived in.
The igloo style is one I think would look nice with any decor. We kept the black with red stitches, are using the pink with purple stitches for the outdoor kitty, and gave the blue one with red stitches to our daughter.
The fabric looks a bit like felt but is much thicker and feels nice. The box states that they will pill over time and you can remove the pills with scissors (or I'm guessing a razor would also work well).
They arrived without any chemical smell or loose stitches and appear to be well made. They are not designed to go in a washer or dryer but you can brush out hair, hand wash if needed, and air dry.
My daughter has had hers in use for over a month and it's holding up well. Uploading some photos so you can get a closer look. Smile. Great pods; recommended. Hope this is helpful!
