Blocos Jr Marine Collection's Seahorse Family of 3D Educational Toy Building Blocks
The folks at Blocos LLC were kind enough to provide me with this Blocos Jr Marine Collection's Seahorse Family of 3D Educational Toy Building Blocks in exchange for sharing my unbiased review...
My 4 year old nephew was shaking he was pretty excited when I was unpacking this product. I emptied the contents out onto our coffee table and opened the instructions to glance over but he quickly came over and took them from me.
He told me he needed help to make the things in the pictures but I really wanted to empty the dishwasher before taking him to the park. I told him that they're just like Legos (which like most kids his age I think are, he's very familiar with) and he didn't have to make what's pictured, he could build anything he wants. He immediately got to playing and building.
A good 30 minutes later, he asked me to help him build the baby seahorse and of course I did. Since then, these have become the second most asked for toy every time he comes over. He always takes out the instructions and looks at the steps (illustrated by pictures) when he plays.
He's not quite coordinated enough yet to pick which pieces to use to make them as pictured but he gets the idea. Most importantly, we enjoy putting them together and he enjoys playing with them on his own as well. These definitely make for some good quiet play time where he can let his creative juices flow and grow his small hand eye coordination.
This product is made in China. We've had them in use for over six weeks and they are durable and holding up well so far. I think this set is a good value for currently under $10. They'd make a nice inexpensive gift, stocking stuffer, or really nice goodie bag item for birthday parties.
We'd been using the Ziploc style bag they came in to store them in the toy box but I moved them into a Tupperware box for easier access and clean-up. I'd definitely recommend saving the insert since my nephew loves referencing it to build the mom, fry, and dad.
Uploading some photos so you can get a closer look. I've rated these 5 stars as I think they are of good quality and I'd recommend them to others. Smile. Hope this is helpful!
