The folks at eLanderDirect were kind enough to provide me with this 3 in 1 FM Transmitter car mount in exchange for sharing my unbiased review...
My husband and I own one other Bluetooth mp3 player but it is not also a phone mount. We've not yet had a vehicle with Bluetooth installed or with an audio jack so this type of item is a game changer for us.
The sound is not perfect but the fact that we can listen to music from our phones is pretty awesome (in our opinion). This item does emit a bit of static that the regular car radio does not but it's not too noticeable while driving.
This product is made in China. If you want perfect sound, this isn't likely the solution for you. We've not tried this with an mp3 player but with our HTC One M8 cell phones and it was easy to setup.
For Bluetooth phone calls, the incoming calls sound good and come in well on the car speakers. The sound going out sounds distant (since your mouth is a bit away from it's location). I have to almost yell to be heard clearly on this.
I do like that this holds our phones in securely and at a decent height (although I prefer a mount at CD player or vent height). The added USB port makes it easy to also charge your phone without needing another charger source.
We also like that this has an actual off/ on switch. This is helpful when I want to use my regular Bluetooth (so I don't have to unplug this mount to disconnect it) but still want to use the mount feature.
I'd buy this for the music feature and only use it for Bluetooth phone calls if you don't have another one available. I wouldn't buy this primarily for car phone calls unless you don't plan on using it much and know that you may have to speak up to be well heard.
We've had this item in use for almost two months without problems and would recommend it to others. Should any issues arise after more time, I'll be sure to update this review.
