The folks at E-tech House were kind enough to provide me with this ball maze toy in exchange for sharing my unbiased review...
I originally opened the box of this product while babysitting my four year old nephew. While he had no idea what the point was of the game, he was enthralled with it, playing for over a half hour before he finally told me it was my turn. I was actually surprised he had so much fun with it because I didn't think it would hold his young attention span.
What surprised me even more is that this has become my husband's favorite game (he didn't previously have any favorite toy or game in our home). The next day when he got home from work, I was in school and remembered I hadn't shown it to him. I texted him to look inside the toy box (filled with our granddaughter's toys) and when he found it I didn't hear back from him for another hour or so until he texted to let me know he made it to 17. He's still yet to beat the game.
This game requires a lot of patience, a calm spirit, good balance, focus, and steady hands. The side of the ball has a point where you can roll the loose inner ball onto a tiny slide. From there, you basically try to roll the inner ball from one slide or track onto another. Each one of the tiny tracks are numbered and there are different goals you can set or games you can play.
This product is made in China. Included in the box is an insert with different ways to play but I think anyone wanting to just get their mind off of things could easily do so without needing any instructions. Although this is marketed as a kids game, I could see this in a waiting room or office too because adults love a good challenge and this definitely provides that.
This is a fun game and it has withstood my nephew banging it against our granite counters so I'd say it's well made too (probably part of the reason this is not recommended for children under six!).
