Kitchen Utensils, Silicone Cooking Set, Mengar Premium Silicone Cooking Utensils Set in Hygienic Solid Coatin - 5 Piece Safe Heat Resistant Cooking Tool Sets
The folks at Mengar Direct were kind enough to provide me with a set of these silicone kitchen utensils (in black) in exchange for sharing my unbiased review...
This product is made in China and arrived in a box suitable for gift giving and without any chemical smell. Upon first opening them, I didn't like the flexibility of these but after trying them out, we like them.
My main reason for the four star rating is just that they're smaller than others we've owned. If you're tight on storage space, this can be seen as a positive but for our preference, it's a negative. They do seem to be well made though.
The bit of flexibility makes these excellent for scraping around the sides of pots or pans. They feel nice in our hands and are easy to grip. They have a hole in each handle that makes them good for hanging.
They are more of a charcoal color than black but do feel sturdy. We've used them with high heat cooking on the stove top and they haven't discolored, misshapen or melted.
We wash them on the top rack in our dishwasher and they clean up fine. We don't normally use the dry cycle and if these dry before I can get a dish towel to dry them off, they dry with water spots. (Not an issue for anyone who uses a dry cycle or dries dishes rather than letting them dry overnight. Mostly just a bit annoying.)
We've had these in use for over two months without problems and would recommend them to others, if you don't mind that they're a bit small. Also, they do not include a pasta ladle.
Uploading some photos so you can get a closer look and see what I mean in comparison to others we own. Smile. Hope this is helpful!
