PROLOSO Portable Manual Can Tin Opener
UPDATED - The folks at Long Deng were kind enough to provide me with this Proloso Manual Can Opener in exchange for sharing my unbiased review...
This can opener is sharp enough that it turns easily and smoothly. We've had it in use for almost three months now without any rust or dulling. The handles are thick making it comfortable to maneuver and the loops on the ends are convenient for hanging. It's a good weight, not too heavy and not too light.
The main reason I'm rating them at 3 stars (just okay) is really a matter of personal preference. We prefer the type of can opener that cuts around the can instead of into the lid. This style cutting into the lid, leaves sharp edges and sometimes part of the can label in your food.
I'm uploading some photos so you can see what I mean for comparison. The yellow one is a cheapie 99¢ model from Ikea. It doesn't look as nice but it cuts around the can so there are no sharp edges to cut yourself on and the lid removes more smoothly. These last for years and have been our preference so far.
If you prefer a can opener that cuts like this one does, more traditionally, then this is a good one. We haven't had any problems with it but I'll be sure to update this review should my opinion of it change later down the road. Smile. Hope this is helpful!
*Update - Another couple months down the road and this can opener no longer turns smoothly nor does it work well. This was with very light use. Edited from 3 stars to 2. There are better options in this price range here.
