Years ago I managed a jewelry store so I have an eye for jewelry. It's hard to tell the difference between some genuine gem stones verses lab created but it's easy to spot a cheap, fake set...
The pair I received do not look like ceylon sapphires (nor would I expect them to for their current price) but they do not look cheaply made either. Because of their extreme brilliance, they don't look high end, in my opinion, hence the four star rating.
As important as that is, even more so (for me) is that they don't hurt my sensitive ears! Anything other than 925 sterling silver or real gold generally make my ears red and, by the end of the day, have them swollen and in pain.
Thankfully, these do seem to be gold plated, as advertised. Thus far, no pain, irritation, or ugly green coloration left behind. Should my opinion of them change after more use, I'll be sure to update this review but I've had these in use for over three months without any issues.
Although they're a little large for my taste, they are currently an excellent value. I also have small ears... Definitely a matter of personal preference!
They are definitely eye catching and I would recommend them to others. Uploading some photos so you can get a closer look and see how these were also packaged (perfect for gift giving). Smile. Hope this is helpful!
