Fantastic product! Easy to put together. Tested this out with my nephew's iPhone 4S and his one gripe was that his phone has to be put just right into the rubber grips. I rated it 4 stars for this reason.
This does work with his case on though and some I've tried wouldn't work without removing a case (which is pretty annoying). Not sure this would work well with an Otterbox type case. My nephew's case is a simple rubbery type one, somewhat slim.
The suction pad on this car mount is better than others I've tried that are similar to this style. As long as you have a smooth surface (and clean it prior to application), it should work well for most phones.
The neck on this mount is longer than any other I've owned which is nice since you can't always place these close to your line of sight (unless you place it to your windshield). Definitely a matter of personal preference! For me, this is important for when I use my phone for GPS.
What was especially surprising was the strength and stiffness of it's long neck! It doesn't allow for your phone to do a lot of bouncing around while driving. Maybe when going over a bump but I'm generally looking at the road then anyway. The neck is firm enough to nicely hold even a larger phone, while still being flexible for adjustments.
Uploading a photo to give you a closer look. Should it's quality decline after more use, I'll update this review. Overall I'd say this is a nice mount for the price. Smile. Buy with confidence. Hope this is helpful!
