This review is from:
Anker 6 Outlet, 4 USB Port PowerStrip/Surge Protector PowerPort Strip with 5ft Cord for Robotic Vacuum, Air Purifier, and PowerIQ for Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge / Note, iPhone 6s / 7 Plus, and Tablets
The kind folks at Anker provided me with this power strip/ surge protector in exchange for sharing my unbiased review...
This item is made in China. When facing it plugged into the outlet, the cord does not lean left or right as some other designs do. Length is five ft, as listed. True white so it looks nice with a white outlet and light carpet where visible.
It has rubber feet underneath and holes for hanging it so you can mount it on the wall or as you wish. The power switch is on top where it's easy to reach and it lights up to indicate that it's on. There is also a green light indicating appliances are protected.
It is designed for six AC outlets and four USBs, designed with smart detection (up to 2.4 Amps per USB port) so you can plug your tablet or phone in wherever you please. The cord is really hefty and it has a nice casing so I think this will hold up quite well.
This power strip is much narrower than others I've seen, about half the width of others we own. The outlets are close together which I thought would be problematic but because they are the opposite direction of outlets on our other power strips, it's not aa bad thing. So far the only large block adapter we've needed to plug into it runs sideways so it doesn't block multiple outlets in spite of it's size.
Smart design at a currently reasonable price. It does not get hot to the touch with heavy repeated use. Paired with good lightning cables, it charges fast. I tested it out using all four ports simultaneously, charging the following items:
-My HTC One M8 Cell Phone
-My husband's HTC One M8
-Google Nexus 7, 2nd Generation, Tablet
- Pivot - Ultra-portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker Tablet Stand - For Any Bluetooth V2.1 Enabled Device Better Sound, Better Volume, Incredible Online Price
I've not yet tried plugging in six plugs at the same time but have had two plugs plus four USBs. Very convenient only needing to use one wall outlet and being able to charge all my devices at once.
We've had this power strip in use for over three months without problems. Will update this review should we have any issues come up. We've needed Anker's warranty and support for another item before though and, I can say from experience, they are fantastic.
Uploading some photos so you can get a closer look. (If the last photo seems strange, it's under an ikea shelf and on a mirrored table.) Really nice size and works well. Would recommend to others. Smile. Hope this is helpful!
