This product is made in China. It arrived as pictured and described and is an innovative design because it captures the peel separately from the garlic.
The stainless steel makes it heavier than some others we've owned and really sturdy to handle. The brush helps make cleaning super fast and easy and including it is a really nice selling feature for purchasers. (Items like these can be a real pain to clean!)
We've had this item in use for over 2 months without any issues but I'll be sure to update this review should my experience with it change after more time.
We don't put it in the dishwasher because the brush is convenient for quick cleaning so we handwash and dry after each use.
