The kind folks at Stronker provided me with this power strip/ surge protector in exchange for sharing my unbiased review...
This item is made in China. The insert (see photo) says to plug this into the wall or surge protector which is a bit confusing. Is this just a power strip or is it a surge protector? It says both here on the product name and it says surge protector on the box.
When facing it plugged into the outlet, the cord does not lean left or right as some other designs do. Length is correct, 7 ft, as listed. True white, not an almond color, so it looks nice with a white outlet and light carpet where visible.
The switch is placed on top where it's easy to reach. Also it lights up to indicate that it's on. It does not however change, from say green for protected or red for not grounded, so I'm guessing it's not really protected (but I could certainly be wrong).
It is designed for six outlets and six USBs, two are for charging a tablet and the other four are for your smartphone (or devices with similar charging needs). It fits perfectly on the windowsill behind the bed where we're currently staying.
Smart design at a currently reasonable price. It does not get hot to the touch with heavy repeated use. Paired with good lightning cables, it charges fast. I tested it out using all six ports simultaneously, charging the following items:
-My HTC One M8 Cell Phone
-My husband's HTC One M8
-SG® Metal Super Slim Power Bank 1200mAh - Red
- Jawbone ICON Series Thinker Bluetooth Headset (Black) [Bulk Packaged]
-Google Nexus 7, 2nd Generation, Tablet
- Pivot - Ultra-portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker Tablet Stand - For Any Bluetooth V2.1 Enabled Device Better Sound, Better Volume, Incredible Online Price
I've not yet tried plugging in six plugs at the same time but have had two plugs plus six USBs. I love that I only need to use one outlet and am able to charge all my devices at once... The little things!
We've had this power strip in use for over two months without any problems as of yet. Will update this review should we have any issues come up.
