I really wasn't expecting anything super sturdy for under $12... Pleasantly surprised! This phone mount has turned out to be my favorite one yet, even over one that cost me over $22 and mounts into our car CD player.
The design was easy to put together according to the photo on the box (see pictured).
We are quite impressed with this thing, having owned a phone mount for the same price of this one and it was pretty much useless! This model is nice because you only need one hand to put your phone in it and to remove your phone from it... Huge convenience!
There isn't a button to press every time you grab your phone or put it in the mount. You press a button to first get it to the size needed to fit your phone, then your phone pops in and out with ease. It's got just enough give to hold it and remove it without adjusting anything. Love that!
Also love that there's no suction cup to deal with possibly coming off or anything that might mark up the car!
The rubber grips that hold the phone in place are super nice compared to others we've tried! Some are too shallow so you have to place your phone in just right but this one is deep enough to easily accommodate your phone even with a thick case on!
I tested it with my HTC One M8 cell phone with slim case as well as with my friend's iPhone 6 Plus with a thick case on. Works great with both!
Bouncing around when going over bumps is slight and I'm not looking at it when that's the case anyway.
The vent clip portion will work well with narrow (see photos) or wide vents. It has a wider part that rests against the dash for added stability but doesn't keep it from working based on the width of your vents, which is also nice. (I had another vent mount that worked well with my Honda but not my Pastor's more narrow vents in his Cadillac.)
This item is made in China and works well both horizontally and vertically, depending on your preference. The open design nicely allows your phone charger to be plugged in from various locations.
I rated this 5 stars and would definitely recommend it to others. Should my opinion change after more use then I will be sure to update this review. It does feel and seem to be well made.
